KENYA EFT:
Vaccinations and Antimalarial Medication
To date, there are no mandatory immunizations that are required for entry into Kenya. However, please note that all students should be up-to-date with routine childhood vaccinations (MMR, Varicella (chicken pox), Polio, TDAP, and influenza).
Second, out of an abundance of caution we ask all students to secure an antimalarial medication such as Malarone before returning to Switzerland in January. You can secure this by visiting your family doctor or local travel clinic when you are home.
Finally, there are no reported cases of yellow fever in areas where we will be traveling in southwestern Kenya (although some cases were reported in 2021 and in the winter of 2022).
If students would like to take a vaccine for yellow fever, or if you have not obtained a prescription for Malarone by the time you arrive in Switzerland, you can obtain one or both by following the instructions below. All students are required to obtain anti-malarial medication by January 25.
